About the Book

A Pasifika relational perspective transcends the confines of the Western philosophical view that forms the basis of the conventional climate discourse. It is grounded in the all-encompassing interconnectedness of tensions and contradictions and relationality of ways of being and knowing. Land and people, society and nature, past and present, human beings and other-than-human beings, economy and ecology, material and spiritual, human beings of today and ancestors of the past and unborn generations of tomorrow, are relationally entangled and negotiated when it comes to understanding issues such as climate change.
